Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus more to finish
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fleischmann’s Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground chai tea or chai spices
  • Vanilla glaze, to finish
  • Raw sugar, to finish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl cream butter. Add oil, sugars, egg & vanilla extract. Beat until well combined, about 2 minutes.
  2. Sift in flour, Fleischmann’s Baking Soda, salt & chai tea (or spices). Beat until dough comes together. Cover & refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
  3. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 350(f) degrees.
  4. Using a small ice cream scoop, evenly divide dough into 24 rounds & transfer to prepared baking sheets.
  5. Sprinkle with granulated sugar & press down slightly to flatten.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden at the edges. Let cool completely before finishing with a dollop of glaze & a pinch of raw sugar.
