Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pie crust
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup Beehive® OR Crown® Golden Syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon peel
  • 1 cup chopped, dried figs
  • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped hazelnuts

Instructions

  1. Fit pie crust into 10 to 11-inch tart pan.
  2. Combine eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, butter, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla and lemon peel in a large bowl. Mix well. Add figs and hazelnuts. Pour into crust.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes until filling is set and nicely browned. Cool.
